Publication Process

The publication process at PRISMA-IJSHR begins with author registration and manuscript submission through the OJS system. Authors are required to complete all metadata fields, including title, abstract, keywords, and affiliations. Once submitted, the Journal Manager assigns the manuscript to the Journal Editor (JE) and Section Editor (SE) for further evaluation.

In the initial screening, editors assess the manuscript's relevance to journal scope, formatting compliance, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned for revision. A plagiarism check is conducted before peer review, with a maximum similarity tolerance of 20%. Authors are encouraged to use Turnitin or iThenticate prior to submission. If plagiarism checking is conducted by the editorial office, a fee of 75,000 IDR (or 5 USD) will apply. Authors can request this service by contacting the editorial team via email or WhatsApp.

Following screening, the manuscript enters pre-review, where editors ensure proper structure and readiness for peer evaluation. If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to double-blind peer review, where qualified reviewers assess the content based on originality, methodology, and contribution to the field. Reviewer recommendations may include acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors must revise their manuscript accordingly and may undergo a second round of review if needed.

Upon acceptance, the manuscript enters the copyediting phase, where grammar, clarity, formatting, and citation style are refined by a Copy Editor. Authors review and approve the edited version before moving to production, where Layout Editors prepare the final version in formats such as PDF, XML, or HTML. A Proofreader performs final checks to eliminate any remaining errors.

In the final stage, metadata is completed, and the article is officially published and scheduled. Published articles are then indexed in databases like Google Scholar, DOAJ, Scopus, or Web of Science (based on the journal’s indexing), and archived in platforms like LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or PKP PN for long-term preservation and accessibility.
