Introduction: Employee performance is a key indicator of organizational success. Two major influencing factors are leadership style and the effectiveness of internal communication.
Method: This study uses a literature review approach based on five peer-reviewed journal articles across multiple sectors, enriched by contemporary frameworks such as transformational leadership, communication satisfaction, and employee engagement theory.
Results: The findings indicate that transformational leadership—characterized by inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, and intellectual stimulation—significantly enhances employee performance. Meanwhile, effective communication—whether vertical, horizontal, or diagonal—directly improves employee productivity, job satisfaction, and organizational loyalty. Communication also serves as a mediating factor that amplifies the impact of leadership on performance outcomes.
Discussion: The integration of participative leadership with two-way communication based on the REACH model (Respect, Empathy, Audible, Clarity, Humble) proves to be a powerful strategy for cultivating a collaborative and high-performing organizational climate.
Conclusion: This study affirms that leadership and communication are two complementary strategic elements that strongly influence employee performance. Their integration should be prioritized in both public and private sector management policies
