Abstract

In an effort to control antimicrobial resistance, Awal Bros Botania Hospital has developed and implemented an Antimicrobial Resistance Control Program (PPRA) as part of its commitment to quality care and patient safety. Although the hospital is relatively new, with only two years of operation; based on national standards, antimicrobial resistence can be conducted and reduced effectively, recognizing that PPRA is also a core component of hospital accreditation in Indonesia. This program aims to reduce and prevent the resistant microorganisms incidence through interdisciplinary collaboration and rational antibiotic use. Moving forward, improvements are recommended in the turnaround time of culture and sensitivity test results, enhancement of both quantitative and qualitative antibiotic usage analysis, and broader dissemination of the PPRA to both internal and external hospital stakeholders
