Key populations are populations at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS, such as Gay, Transgender, and Men having Sex with Men (MSM). To overcome this, people who are potentially infected with this deadly disease are expected to have their medical check through Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT). The aim of this study was to analyze the determinants of Gay, Transgender, and MSM in participating in the VCT. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and collected data through Focus Group Discussions and in-depth interviews. Research informants were eight people with HIV/AIDS who have done the VCT and two key informants from The National AIDS Commission of Tulungagung Regency. The sexual behavior of the research informants at high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS was studied. It was found that they got the benefits of VCT. Barriers that change the informants’ behavior include the strong stigma and debate in the community against HIV/AIDS sufferers. All informants received support from their communities, families, health workers, and healthcare providers that them more comfortable and confident about the VCT and ARV therapy. The Gay, Transgender and MSM community in conducting the VCT are influenced by various social and psychological support to increase motivation towards themselves.
